February 2008

Our first Christmas/New Year has been and gone and life has never been so busy! Very little time to stop and relax here with keeping the boarding dogs happy and giving them regular play times with their favourite toys or just spending time with us around the garden ... see our testimonials page for photo's! |

2007 Update
|
Council Health and Security have given their "stamp of approval" pending a few minor items to be fixed. Floors and walls are planned to be sealed in the next week or so and once finished we will be "operational"! There is still much landscaping and fencing yet to be done. New photo's to be posted on this page
soon. |

2007 Update
|
The internal gates have finally returned from the fabricators, resized to fit (hopefully!) and now with the lock panels ... still needing some small alterations, however these will be done on site. Safety being the main cause for concern. The application for the Kennel Licence was also submitted to the council last week which was followed by a visit from our friendly, local Ranger, Patrick Cornelius, who now awaits completion in order to make his final inspection. Stay tuned ... we're getting close now! |

2007 Update
|
It's been over 6 months now since we started this venture! The mesh screens and gates were delivered last week. Most looks pretty good but a small set back with the internal gates ... they were made with the mesh welded on the wrong side (sharp sides in towards the dogs) and the frames also incorrectly sized! ... Unfortunately the difficulty in communication has hindered the progress of this part of the project. The smooth running and final completion of this project has been a challenge to say the least, but so far, we're still hanging in there (just!) In the meantime, the Plumber has completed the drainage and taps in and around the building. To the many enquiries we have had for future bookings, hang in there ... it can't be too much longer ... surely!!!

October 2006
... the ground moved under my feet!
|
The next step was the "great retainer wall" ... wow! This was one huge job (well it seemed that way to us) and Wayne Thompson of Thompson's Retaining & Fencing did a fantastic job for us!
Whilst still awaiting quotes and final
figures from builders we began work on preparing the area.

September
2006 It all started here ...
|
When we purchased this property, in 2002, it was one of the only blocks in the Canning Vale Kennel Zone without kennels. It had been owned, loved and enjoyed by a couple with their one little dog, where they had brought up their children and grandchildren ... we never dreamt that one day we would decide develop it to what it is today and build kennels. Thanks to Martin Blakey (Real Estate Agent) for finding us the perfect dream property! After over 12 months of research and deliberation, we decided to proceed with building kennels. Council gave us permission to build on the area that we wanted to use - a very sloping part of our block that would require serious retaining and earthworks - but also an area that was totally useless for anything else we wanted to do.
